"Change is the law of life. And those who only look on the past or present are certain to miss the future."- John F. Kennedy
Time fly so fast and change is inevitable. A lot of my friends and folks (parents and old people) tend to compare the things they had with what's happening nowadays. I'm quite affected with that but I'm also trying to adapt to what's new and normal to the generation.
But we can't deny that there are things that are quite fading away. And yet I can't let those things fade away because it was part of my life and I'm sure most of you are. You know what I'm talking about if you keep on reading.
Here are the list of things that are slowly fade away if not gone literally.
- Love Letters. We write letters to those we like with our penmanship. Sometimes we write even love poems just to express our intentions to those we like and love.
- Cassette Tapes. This is already obsolete but this how we listen to music way back aside from the radio. We listen to the whole album and before we purchase the tape, somebody we know already bought and reviewed it so that we can but and enjoy the experience of that music and make our purchase worth it.
- Video Entertainment Tapes and Players. These tapes are like cassette tapes but larger and contain videos. These were our entertainment way back. There were stores like Blockbuster and Video City opened where you can't rent these tapes and enjoy a night of movie marathon. VHS and Betamax players and tapes are sadly obsolete now.
- Discs and Players (CDs, VCDs, Laser Discs and DVDs including Bluray). Just like the tapes, it was over for these entertainment things to go out of date because of streaming platforms.
- Filipino Street Games. Hopscotch (Piko in Tagalog), Hide and Seek (Taguan), Mataga-Taya, Tumbang Preso, Patintero, Sipa, Tex, Jolens, Tantsing, Kalog, Dampa, Bahay-bahayan, etc. Because of mobile games, the streets are not that exciting anymore.
- Radio and Television Broadcasting. Because of streaming services and the internet, expect that radio and TV will be obsolete too.
Hopefully, I won't be adding anything on this list anytime soon. But if there is, I will not hesitate to list it down here.
Kapish!
