How To Deal With Valentine's Day

By Angel Apurillo

"Love is our true destiny. We do not find the meaning of life by ourselves alone - we find it with another."
 - Thomas Merton
Every year, there is a season that some people feel lonely about. These people wanted to spend this particular day with somebody that they would want. Pay attention to the "want".

People become romantic at this time of the year. I don't know why but I say -- "it should not be at this time of the year only?"

But anyway, I need to give some things I learned whenever this Valentine's Day is approaching and passed. Try these tips for your own good...

For Singles

For those who don't have their SO (Significant Other), there are several ways to spend Valentine's day/s without being bitter. You can spend it with family, friends or co workers. They're your first and second family, so they are your go-to-people whenever there are heart aches and problems. So be grateful and spend some time with them.

And since you're single, you can do whatever you want. Your options are limitless. You can climb a mountain, go to the beach or anything you want to do. As long as you have the money, then go!

For Attached People

As for people like me, married, married with kids, engaged or having a steady date, they should be our priority. It doesn't need to be expensive. But be there when this season comes. Have a romantic date, give them flowers, chocolates or watch a movie with them are the most common ones.

But you can be more creative if you can take them to places and experience something new.  When I say "can", it fits with the budget or monetary obligations.

For Those Who Prefer To Be Alone Forever

I know that you have your own priorities, but people need human interaction. These times are good reasons to go outside rather than spend your time with games and videos. Just do the above activities (especially for those who are single), to just at least be out of your cave. To at least interact with people. You'll look for it in the future.

So let those people express their emotions every Valentine's Day. Its their way to cover what's missing in their lives. Don't bash them because they are just too bitter that they don't have dates at this season of love.
